Community Relations
The Moonlight Quilters of Sonoma County reach out and support our community in many ways:
-
we make quilts for a variety of organizations that support at-risk populations
-
we make bag-alongs for seniors to use with a walker
-
we make grants for quilt-related educational projects
Community Quilts
Each year the Moonlight Quilters of Sonoma County make approximately 120 adult and baby size quilts to donate to a variety of organizations that support at-risk populations in Sonoma County. Fabrics are donated by members and merchants, the loving stitches are completed by members and friends.
The community service quilts are turned in throughout the year as they are completed. The quilts are donated during a “Fashion Show” at the August guild meeting. We often hear heart-stirring comments from the two organizations receiving the quilts in August.
Quilts for Cats and Dogs Awaiting Adoption
We create small quilts for cats and dogs, through the Cat and Dog Cuddles Program.
Rhonda's Baby Closet Patterns
Follow the links provided for patterns that the Santa Rosa Quilt Guild is using for the Baby Closet project at the Lombardi campus of the Santa Rosa Community Health Center at the Roseland Clinic. Patterns include: Bibs (Cloud 9 pattern), Receiving Blankets (36" x 36", one side cotton, one side flannel), Quilted Tote Bags to put the loot in, and a Stuffed Cat "friend".
I would love to thank you again for your coordination efforts and donation to the Baby closet at Santa Rosa Community Health! I have passed a scan of the business report to our Communications Director. I look forward to thanking Moonlight quilters in person soon.
All my best,
