In their own words, Deb and Jane tell how Quilt Mavens came to be:

We met a few short years ago in 2001, at a San Francisco Quilter's Guild 'Quiltaway' and became fast friends.

Almost immediately, we discovered we had VERY different quilting styles. Janet, the experienced, award winning, published quilter, loved to take traditional patterns and designs and give them new life with fabrics and colors. Deb, aka the 'Spike Queen' adored paper piecing and designing spikey quilts using bold, bright colors.

Putting our differences aside, we started collaborating on quilts. It was amazing to both of us how much we found we could learn from each other. As the journey continues, we hope to keep the learning process and overall fun of sewing together an evident quality of all of our quilts.
